Apollo Smart Heating Oil Energy Monitor Launched

Thanks to electronic home energy monitors, homes across the country have been able to revolutionise the way they consume heating oil. These monitors have allowed users to track how much oil has been used, but until recently the technology has been unable to fully benefit rural homes.

In response to the growing demand Dunraven Systems Limited has launched the new Apollo Smart Heating Oil Energy Monitor for use in domestic heating installations.

Dunraven Systems’ Managing Director, Gerry Jones explains: “The Apollo Smart Monitor incorporates breakthrough technology to analyse fuel costs, energy consumption and carbon emissions. It does so on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. Apollo Smart displays real time temperature information too, whilst the unique ‘Days to Empty’ function reduces the likelihood of consumers running out of heating oil.

“Apollo Smart also monitors the level of oil in a consumer’s tank. And whilst most domestic oil tank monitors simply display the level of fuel inside the tank... Apollo Smart is different. It adapts for not only the height of the tank, but the shape of the tank too. This subtle yet significant difference, allows Apollo Smart to display an estimation of the volume of fuel remaining in both litres and as a percentage of tank capacity.”

The Apollo Smart Monitor can be integrated into almost any heating oil system in minutes without the need for any specialist training, tools or wiring. Unlike traditional domestic oil tank content gauges the Apollo Smart adapts to the height and size of the tank to ensure an accurate display of the fuel level remaining in both litres and as a percentage of tank volume.

Long terms cost, consumption and usage trends can also be monitored using Apollo Smart's powerful processor and onboard storage. Stored data is easy to upload onto any PC or Mac with the use of the inbuilt USB connectivity and can also be retained using the Apollo Smart App, which is due to be released soon.

The new product was launched at the Northern Ireland Plumbing & Heating Show and stands today as the first heating oil energy monitor.

The Apollo Smart, set to be launched in the winter of 2011, is becoming one of most highly anticipated products of the year. The monitor, developed by Dunraven Systems, is the world’s first heating oil energy monitor, designed for domestic oil heating installations. It has been developed to allow customers to keep an eye on heating costs, ascertain the volume of fuel remaining in a tank and monitor consumption and emissions.

An inbuilt USB connectivity in the Apollo Smart allows consumption and usage data to be uploaded to a computer, via the optional Apollo Smart App. The downloadable App offers consumers the chance to monitor historical data, which enables them to manage their costs and control their usage.
